Old Graves in Ping Shan New Territories

Hello,

I'm looking for photos or other material taken in the Ping Shan of the New Territories before 1980. My family had an ancestral memorial (graves) there, within walking distance of Old Ping Shan police station. It was exhumed owing to the development of Hong Kong in the late 80's or so.

The location of the original site has been lost. I would like to collect more images and information of the surrounding area at the time, for the benefit of future generations.

RAF Sek Kong Airshow-Avro Vulcan-17 November 1978

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1978

The RAF airshow at Sek Kong in 1978 featured a Vulcan delta-wing bomber which must have been a sight to see manouvering within Sek Kong's valley.

Like most of these shows they were rarely publicised unless you were "in-the know". Only to read about them later in the SCMP the next week.

He continued flying after the war using Shell’s corporate aircraft.

Extracts from the AAB's Historic Building Appraisal:

[...]

The three buildings of the Ex-Royal Air Force Station that now remain were built in 1934. No.50 was the former RAF Headquarters. It became the Kai Tak Vietnamese Refugee Camp (啟德越南難民營) between 1979 and 1981 and continued to be used for detaining Vietnamese refugees under different names until 1997. It then became the Caritas Family Crisis Support Centre (明 愛向晴軒) since March 2002.
