Gloucester Road and Causeway Bay 1980

This is almost a panorama image (from two separate photos on Flickr) with a bit missing in the centre. I think it was taken from the pedestrian crossing over Gloucester Road at Percival Street. It shows the junction with the Cross Harbour Tunnel looking east.

Was located at 257, Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay.

Labelled "Atmosphere Restaurant". The restaurant was opened in 1976 by Leo Landau who also owened Jimmy's Kitchen. Probably closed in about 1990 when the building was demolished for the new Sino Plaza that opened in 1992.

From my 1980 Hong Kong Tourist Association Official Guidebook.

1962 Typhoon Shelter

This photo shows the old Causeway Bay Typhoon shelter. It's attributed to 1962, but the date should be 1955 or 1956. The Typhoon shelter was reclamed 1956/57 to become Victoria Park (opened 1957). Date confirmed. see David's comment below.

The rounded house right hand side on the hill (at the bend of Tai Hang Road) is Grandview Mansion, first occupied 1/1955.

Below it, a house on a round structure is under construction, probably built on the site of the mystery building.
