I'm just back after a few weeks holiday in Wales, and the heat here is a shock to the system!

The group in this photo look as though they're feeling the heat too, stripped down to shorts and vests.

In 1931 the german community rented the premises on the fourth floor of the Butterfield and Swire building, 2 Connaught Road Central,  for the "Deutscher Klub" - German Club. The floor plan is a scan taken from the book: W. Sporleder; Hong Kong, 1928-1939.

Sedan Chairs, The Peak, 1938

These sedan chairs appear to be exactly the same type shown in David's picture. I hope the passengers came up The Peak in the tram rather than being carried up from town. They are an Air France crew visiting after a flight from Hanoi.
