1900s Tsim Sha Tsui (East of Carnarvon Road)

The two-storey long building at top centre is Knutsford Terrace. The Observatory on Mount Elgin is next to it at top right. Below Knutsford Terrace is Kimberley Road. There is a lack of buildings on Kimberley Road. Carnarvon Road runs down from Kimberley Road below the western end of Knutsford Terrace and intersects with Cameron Road which is the long horizontal road in the centre. There is a long row of buildings on the northern side of Cameron Road.

Cropped from a multi-view postcard of 1900s Kowloon. Middle Road is in the foreground whilst Nathan (Robinson) Road runs horizontally in the centre and meets up with Salisbury Road at top left.

1907 Tsim Sha Tsui (East of Nathan Road)

1907

Cropped from a multi-view postcard of 1900s Kowloon. I think the large building in the centre is the rear view of the terraced building that fronts Nathan Road located between Mody and Carnarvon Roads. Carnarvon Road runs in towards Nathan Road at top right. The view from this section can be viewed here. The road system in Tsim Sha Tsui is under development. Mody Road is in the centre with many buildings yet to be built. Corrections are welcome.

1900s Elgin Road

On Flickr attributed to the 1920s, but Elgin Road became Haiphong Road already in 1909. Possibly taken from Robinson/Nathan Road.

There is a gas lamp in front of the houses. Public Works Report for 1892 states the erection of gas lamps on this road.
