From the 1902 Fire Brigade Report, a large fire occurred on Wellington Street near the Fire Brigade Station on 19 May. 15 houses were destroyed. <Read more ...>

I've been trawling through eBAY recently, and found this. We're usually looking at the photo on the front of the postcard, but this time it's the back that's more interesting. I'm pretty sure it was sent in 1907 by a relative of Sean, one of our regular contributors.

Olsons at Happy Valley Picture 3

This is a comparison picture I did. The older man wearing a boater is definitely my great grandfather John Olson. He is set next to what we think is a younger version of him.

This is the left hand half of the previous group picture.

If anybody is interested I can post two more pictures. They are of the two halves of the group picture posted earlier and are of better quality if people need them for identification purposes.
