Sai Kung aerial photograph with old police station 1949

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):

Shows Sai Kung harbour and the old Sai Kung Police Station on the southern shore. The roof is missing, a building behind seems to be completely removed; so the police station was likely damaged during the Japanese invasion in 1941.

David Stone kindly allowed me to upload this photograph of his Uncle Billy (Willian Joseph Webber) standing at the top of a ship's gang plank.  I suspect that the ship was moored alongside one of the Kowloon jetties but have not checked out the outline of the distant hills.  It could be at the shipyard at Taikoo but as far as I know passenger vessels did not sail from Taikoo.

My wife Anne kneeling beside my grandmother's grave, October 1996.

The inscription  “Thine eyes shall see...“  is particularly poignant as my grandmother was blind.
