Land Sales, &c. — Q 30 —

9. Grants on Nominal Terms.—In Hongkong, an area of 31,650 sq. ft., known as Inland Lot 2459, was granted without premium for a period of 75 years renewable, to the Chinese Anglican Church Body of Hongkong for the purpose of erecting a girls’ school together with staff quarters.

... David: I arrived in Hong Kong from the UK in 1989, stopping over on the way to Australia. I stayed here a couple of months before carrying on, but around two years later I came back again and have been here ever since.

Military Sites of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison

I paid a visit to the "Museum of Coastal Defence" a couple of weeks ago (well worth a visit if you can get there) and took a note of all the PLA sites. Seeing as Bonham Tower Barracks was discussed a few weeks ago, I figured I would attempt a transcription (para-phrased, trying to eliminate some of the grammatical errors) of the info here.

16. Several works of importance have either been completed or pushed forward during the year.

The Electric Tramway route was inaugurated, or at least the first section of it, on 30th July, the remainder coming into use shortly afterwards.
