My only memory with Kai Tak

Hi guys. I am new to gwulo.com. Nice to meet you all and learn the history about Hong Kong from all of you.

I took the pictures below last year from Kai Tak Airport Photo Exhibition at Mikiki, San Po Kong. Before the Airport’s closure, I was still very little living in Sham Shui Po. Even though I had never been to the Airport, I was amazed by aeroplanes and engine noise flying over my head. The rest of my impression about Kai Tak is from TV dramas and movies.

Hi Gwulo Community,

I found this site a few days ago through another old Hong Kong friend and I was so excited to see it and all the wonderful photos.

He presumably must have been quite a well-known figure in Hong Kong at the time - has any Gwulo researcher come across him?

Search my family

Hello,

I apologize for going through this channel, you are a site well frequented. I know that my father went through Hong Kong in April 1934 for Reunion Island (French overseas department). I am looking for my father's family, he was born in Canton Suntack (see photos attached).
He was born around 1911.

Paresian Grill French Restaurant.

Does any one remember the Paresian Grill Restaurant. Situated in a small allyway next to the Bank of China, I believe on Queens Road Central? It was my favorite restaurant when in port. Albert Bodt, M.D., U.S.S. Coral Sea, CVA 43, 1967 through 1970.
