((Just before the Jap attack, Dr Chawn in town was making a denture for Mum, so in camp she asked if there was any chance of getting it. In retrospect, what a fantastic person Selwyn-Clarke was to take time, under difficult circumstances i.e. the Japs, to try to ferret out someone's denture!))
Wonderful news - all the VADs are due here on Monday, so glad for Mabel's sake.

An invoice with today's date, made up by the Department store Habade, shows that he was soon to receive a package that would include soap (laundry and toilet), brown sugar, size 9 rubber shoes, chocolate, toothpaste, currants, needle and thread, honey and even gruyere cheese.

There was a concert this evening, given by “Asama” passengers. It was very good. One of the world’s best piano players played several pieces. Also special songs by the Brazilian folks.
