Before there was Wellcome we had Dairy Lane, Causeway Bay. I'm glad to see that the trees have survived to this day

The theatres not visible in the photo are the Jade Theatre and the Pearl Theatre.

Hi there,

All the old trees are already gone, I could not recall when.  The trees shown in the photo had been deteriorating since the 1970's anyway.  Somebody planted a few young tree a bit closer to Park Lane Hotel.  Let's hope the new trees could survive the smog.

I think some old trees survived until the late 1990s or even early 2000s.  They were right at the edge of the pavement.
