HISTORY OF 1923 KCR TRAIN ACCIDENT MAN MADE SLOPE IN CUHK
Dear Everybody:
I found a man made slope in CUHK on 1999. Then I reported to CUHK about man made slope history. I make CUHK very very trouble case.
Reference from page 131,132 write that:
The first occurred on June 14,1923, when a landslide occurred at Mile 10 1/2 following exceptionally heavy rains. A passenger train was heading southwards at a speed of 35 miles per hour when several hundred tons of earth fell across its path on a curve by the sea. The front portion of the train was derailed and the locomotive (No.1) and the first coach were pushed bodily down the embankment onto the beach some 24 feet below.
Miraculously no one was killed and only one person suffered minor injury......
This man made slope is in Campus Circuit East CUHK (nearby street light box no:R10-B15).It is very easy to go there. Please see "1910s KCR Gradient Stone Pillar in CUHK" [gwulo/node/17649]
