That's an interesting find.

There's a registration of the "Pelican" trademark in 1924 from a Scottish company "Arthur & Company (Export) Limited" for "cotton piece goods of all kinds":

Hello David,

Couldn't find information on internet about the distributor - "Dah Sing company" - which indicated on the bottom left in four Chinese characters.  I wonder if the present day Dah Sing Bank is related to the former 'Dah Sun department store' which operated in Canton and Hong Kong half a century ago.
