Looking at this photo there is some similarity with the building wall in the photo above. 

Thanks Moddsey for the link you posted on the other related page, and your sharp-eye observation.  This wall is likely part of the same property shown on the other page noted as pre-Canton Road south of Salisburg Road.  I surmise the high society lady has just stepped out of her residence followed by her body guard.

Thanks Moddsey for this photo which enables us to compare distant landscape then and now  The water's edge here likely no longer exists due to land reclamation.  However, I estimate the fisherman was somewhere in/near the vicinity of the present Kin Wan Street.  Now, there are several sphere photos showing the view to the southeast and inspite of the modern highrises the ridgeline (Quarry Bay, for example) is visible and very similar to the one in this photo.  The landscape in this vintage photo was what I saw, and fondly remember, as my ship left Kowloon Pier for North America.
