Rouges Alley
Greetings! As some, if not all vendors, do not have licence or occupation permit, rouge is a fairly accurate description. In my childhood time, elders used 橫巷 (off-shoot alley)
and 橫街 (off-shoot street) to call these places because they did not have known address except that they were adjacent to some known streets. Regards, Peter
Re: Rouges Alley
Hi There,
The street was full of stalls and shops with open air dranage just a bit off from the middle. Likely one of those side streets between Des Voeux and Queen's Road Central and between Padder and Wing Wo Streets.
There was quite a load of them that may fit the condition, with two more famous ones still with stalls lineing them up: the Lei Yuen Streets, East & West.
Can't identify exactly which street was though.
