Closer to the Shau Kei Wan harbour, clearing of the buildings at Sai Wan Ho had already started. Much of this part of the harbour would be reclaimed for the bus and MTR stations. The Coastal Defence Museum would be established in the Victorian military buildings on the hill to the left of the central blocks of flats, with the Island Eastern Corridor planned to go through the gap between that hill and the higher one on the right where the Lye Mun barracks would eventually be converted into the Lye Mun holiday village.
