Once the 'new' low level road had been built between Chai Wan and the camp, the old camp road became unused and derelict. In 1987, nobody would have needed or wanted to make the steep climb up it and over to Big Wave Bay - except me. Now, of course, it is a well maintained, well lit and well used path for the people of Siu Sai Wan to use for their exercise. On my later visits in the early 2000s they must have wondered why I was there taking video and still photographs rather than doing so in the tourist spots. Very few of them would have known what Siu Sai Wan was like when it was little Sai Wan.
