Greetings.  Vancouver 4 postal area in 1965 had enough Chinese immgrants to support a theatre.  My uncle settled there in 1955 and he regularly sent home canned salmon, Lifesaver candies, and for me Batman and cowboys comic books.  In 1950s and 1960s, chances are the Chinese you met on the street in Canada came from Taishan (Toishan) and Hong Kong.

The first line is the theatre's name and the second line is its operator/sponsor.  The text announced films with famous HK actors/actresses to be shown just prior to and on Chinese New Year Day.  Regards, Peter
