The passengers appear to be dressed in Japanese garb. Perhaps not a Hong Kong setting.

Very interesting! I may have got this all wrong. This photo is from old albums with few comments. Arne Schou Sørensen on the picture made journeys to Japan as well when living in HK. I assumed this was taken as he was on way to or from daily work, between the Peak and the city centre. I have to change the title as the tram assumption now seems to be uncertain. Thank you a lot for your comment.

The date given should be 1910 instead of 2010.
