The photo shows the internees from Stanley Camp on their journey away from Hong Kong in September 1945.
I must apologise for the poor quality of the photo but it is in its 73rd year and has deteriorated somewhat as it has aged. Also it is in semi darkness, possibly early morning, when visibility was not at its best.
The photograph itself was given me by my parents some 40 years ago and I found it the other day in a box full of old family snaps. Its an interesting reminder of the past and it could well be one of a very few still in existence of the prisoners on their way to freedom.
Does anyone else have any similar photos, to help us understand where this was taken?
