Even after considerable magnification I'm not sure if the man leading my mother to the wedding is the same as the man on the right in the large wedding photo. The lady standing next to that man is clearly visible in the small photo, and as she's wearing a bouquet I assume she was a bridesmaid - the only others wearing one are my mother and the maid of honour, Mrs d'Almeida. I had assumed that the man on the right was Mr Almeida.

On reflection, the man in the small photo is carrying what looks like the same hat as the man on the right in the large photo, and it seems unlikley that someone would lead my mother to the church and then not be in the post-ceremony photo.

Can you please enlarge the photo? I can't see anyone clearly. Thanks loads. Howard

Larger version uploaded, Howard.

It's definitely the same man as in the other photo. I don't know for sure that he's E.D. Sykes though. I've sent the photo to E.D.'s son, who lives in Toronto. Let's see what he says. (The guy is very slow at replying so it will take a while before I hear back from him.) Thanks for enlarging this photo.

Thanks, Howard. I look forward very much to learning what Mr Sykes' son thinks in due course.

Bad news. Mr. Sykes showed the photo to his brother and sisters. They don't think it's their father.
