S.S. Nanning was built by Taikoo Dockyard & Engineering Co. in 1923 for the China Navigation Co. She was scuttled at Hong Kong in December 1941to avoid capture by Japanese forces. However, the ship was refloated, repaired and renamed “Nannin Maru” (Perhaps a mis-spelling for Nanning) . She was sunk again by a mine on the 16th July 1945 off Yawata.
