Tai Po Market Station (Temporary Structure)

Tai Po Market Station (Temporary Structure)

The ornate Tai Po Market station building, which today serves as Hong Kong's Railway Museum, was not completed until 1913, two years after the railway had opened. For the first two years British soldiers encamped up in the New Territories  had to make do with a mat-shed station to shelter from the sun and rain.
