As noted here , the Harbour Office was a convenient location to site a postbox. The pillar box shown at the street corner may have been one of the original Jubilee postboxes erected in 1892. 

Interesting to read about the wall postbox at Kai Tak installed during the Japanese Occupation. A pity there is no photograph or further information about it.
