Can anyone help me please? I have had this picture my whole life and it is of me around 10 years of age and I think it is very early 1970s in my Glenealy Junior School football kit. I think I may have been on Kowloon side which involved using the vehicular ferry over from Hong Kong island - so maybe KGV. But I am not at all sure and would appreciate some help! Thanks. Paul

Re: Building in the background
Hi There,
The building at the very back actually has a column of Chinese characters, which is most likely the name of it. IMaybe if you could try to scan the photo in a higher resolution of that column maybe we could try to read the words?

Hi T,
Hi T,
Thanks for your advice. Tried to do that before but with no luck. Probably down to my appalling IT skills and equipment!!

South island School
Should be South Island School at its previous location in Causeway Bay. Next to Shing Kwong Church.

It's now the Hotung Secondary School (edit: last Streetview capture shows it as that, but may have changed since)
Reckon you were standing on the military sports ground.
Re: scanning photos
Hi There,
The resolution of the scan is usually being limited by both Hardware and Software. Like what I have at home is an HP OfficeJet multi-purpose printer, which can only handle the highest resolution of scanned photo up to 300 dpi. If your setup is similar you have to look into the scanning software you are using, and adjust to the highest resolution available to you.
If you look it up online, there are various 'Good/Best practice for scanning photos' for studying.
Suggest to ask a trusted friend for on-site assistance.

Military Sports Ground at So Kun Po (So Kwun Poo)
Yes, it was the military sports field at So Kun Po, Causeway Bay. It was normally used by the ESF schools for football practice or matches against other schools.
That's champion.Thanks guys.

You have eased my mind. For decades I have been looking at that photo and racking my brain as to which pitch it was!!
