HI there. Came across this photo of my father and his friends and am trying to figure out if this is a location in HK in the late 1940s early 1950s?
I realise is might be somewhere in Taishan in China but looking at how the ladies are dressed, I am more inclined to think it's somewhere in Hong Kong in the New Territories?
Would be grateful for any thoughts on this.
Many thanks.

Thank you ABC for the photo. Your father appears to be in his early 30s so I wonder if this photo was taken before the family left Taishan. It looks like a class picnic; was he a teacher at one time? The hair style of several girls are quite modern, so a remote part of New Territories is my other guess. Regards, Peter
Shatin
Shatin before the reclamation?
Shatin - Likely
Thank Raymond, I think you are correct. Several features in this group photo are similar to those in this Amah Rock photo: 1. several ridgelines. 2. lone white building. 3. sand bar and the beach. The 1960s colour photo shows what appears to be some reclamation. Regards, Peter
Shatin Lead
Thank you Peter and Raymond. Would have never occurred to me that it might be Shatin. As far as I know, my father never taught although he was apparently quite scholary. The mystery continues!
Thanks
Thanks Raymond. Will look for some images of Shatin before it was reclaimed. I am intrigued.
