Hi There,

The photographer should be standing on the upper atrium of the Hong Kong Coliseum, approximately atop the box office.  The building on the right hand side was a Government married quarters, I belive it was for the Fire Service.  It had been demolished and now replaced by the Icon Hotel, which is the de facto teaching hotel for HK PolyU.
