In the 1970s, the "Hong Kong squatter huts era" almost came to an end. Most of the visible ones on hilltops and open grounds got resettled to government housings. It seems these huts on rooftops were mostly ignored except they may be regarded as illegal structures and ordered to be removed. These ones are on Lockhart road in 1970. The right side is the lockhart-fleming junction. Part of the sign of 大來酒家 can be seen with address 193 lockhart road according to 1967 年香港年鑑. The last 3 characters are also visible on the side wall. That means it was exactly at the lockhard-fleming junction. The left side was a furniture store at 173-175 lockhart road not far from the O'brien junction. The reclamation area off Gloucester road can be seen.
