Hi there,

I'm interested to know if the government keep the lamp post number even though they have been replaced over the years.  If so we might be able to pin point the location of this photo.

Anyway from the angle and the look of it this photo should also be taken on the uppder deck of a tram.  The location is very likely somewhere in Shengwan, around those preserved seafood stores.

And even if the number has changed, there is probably still a lampost there.

Some other photos in Fred's collection were taken in Centre Street, so I agree this was probably taken from the tram somewhere between Sheung Wan and Centre Street.
