Hi there,

This photo doesn't look like Sai Kung at all.  The high rises didn't not look right.  Unable to match anything in my mind yet.

Best Regards,

T

Just above the mast of the sailing boat is a familiar building:

Mike, thanks for the stedy stream of photos. You've got a real treasure trove. Also thanks for scanning these latest photos at higher resolution, so we can zoom in on the details.

Regards, David

Hi David,

I could not pin point anything, but I have a gut feeling that the skyline did not look right as the buildings did not add up even if the National Lacquer & Paint Products seemed to be a match.  Would the slide be flipped?

Best Regards,

Could it be Chi Wan? Please view the following link.

Thanks David, think ive got a few more to post. Then I will look at the pictures!

Thanks guys for trying to id where this is...I'm only guessing

Mike

I think five star may have got it right. Part of a photo sequence as one sails thru lyemun gap. Probably the end of Shaukiwan as it was then.

Ok Moddsey & Fivestar....thanks for your help.

Mike

I've flipped the photo as Thomas suggested. It makes the writing on the factory legible as "PAINT PRODUCTS CO.", which matches the other pictures we've got ofthe National Lacquer factory. So I'll still vote for North Point as the location of this one.

Regards, David

Yes I think the Paint Products building is basically a 99% match with the other photos that has that building there.  Particularly this one:  http://gwulo.com/node/13566

The line of the mountain on top of the left hand half of the building is quite a good match too.

Hi there,

It seem we have a match.  North Point it was.  The tall greyish building (North Point Mansion) still exist today.  The deep beige group of building would then be the first phase of the Healthy Village back then.
