Bella Southorn to Alexander Laihovetsky, letter 1, 1932

Bella Southorn was the wife of the Colonial Secretary during the Peel governorship.

I gather the Empire Products Fair was a forerunner of the HK Agricultural Society shows in the New Territories which I remember from the 1950s.

Captain Alexander Laihovetsky lived in HK from about 1919-42, apart from a period in the 1920s when he took his family to Canada chicken-farming - probably the reason he came to be considered an "expert" on chickens. He even kept chickens on his ship.
