As I understand it, there were only 150 cars left in HK at Liberation, and this pre-war Vauxhall was one of them. It had been through the Occupation in Japanese hands, and the floor rusted through within a couple of years of my father acquiring it in earlyish 1946. The pic is probably about 1947, and my best guess is that it is outside the Butterfield and Swire waterfront offices in Connaught Rd.

Nice Photo. To the right is the New Oriental Building with the B & S Building next to it. The entrance to the Victoria Recreation Club is further up the road and on the left. Can you recall the licence plate number?

No recollection except I think it was 4 digits with no prefix. Seems impossible to discern in the pic
