The left street sign reads 'Queen Victoria Street', and the right reads 'Connaught Road Central'.

The photo was taken in 1941. Replacement of sandbags with the 'Mimi Laus' surrounding Government buildings first commenced with the former Law Courts Building at the end of April 1941.
