Tai Tam Fork Battery Sketch

Tai Tam Fork Battery Sketch

A rough sketch of Tai Tam Fork Battery.

Black Boxes represent standard bunkers

Red represents rough paths

Blue represents the road

Green represents what appear to be gun pits

-->There is more, but it is hard to find everything since the area is VERY overgrown as Rob said. Will go back to try and make a more accurate sketch

Which one stands for the toilet?

I've only been able to notice it yesterday, haven't explored for the rest since I didn't know of their existence ... It's a pity that I only found your map and photos today.

Apologies for the old and not completely accurate depiction H Lo, this was done a few years ago before I had fully explored the site. The toilet block is the black box marked with an X in the upper right, it is actually the easiest to find in my opinion. Just go up the stairs onto the ridge and bushwack along the faint paths. The path to the slight right hand side and over on the back side of the ridge gets you near the military toilet block. If you proceed to your left instead, and along the ridge, after a few dozen meters you will see 1/2 gunpits with associated ammunition lockers and such. There is also 1/2 more splinter proof bunkers right in that area.

So there is actually more than is shown on this inaccurate map. And the map is not a great indication. Apologies again.

Regards

Never mind, your description may help.

I went uphill near H065, via a faint track through the forest. On the other side of the toilet block was a path along the ridge. One of my pals followed that path, heading north and then met me at the Former Police Post (red brick bungalow). I retraced from the toilet block to meet those waiting for me, we continued along the Tai Tam Reservoir Road to meet the pal I mentioned beforehand.

He said that there's no more building in sight except the block we saw, perhaps those others you mentioned are out of sight for hikers who stick to the track.
