I think that's at the old Peak Road, possibly next to the Peak Tram Upper Terminal.

1950 Peak Chair
That corner is so familiar: could it be the one on Mt. Austin Road where a narrow (sedan chair) branch leads back down to Bishop's Lodge at 25 & 26 Lugard Road?
The building doesn't look
The building doesn't look like the old Peak Tram terminus.
The path looks like the path that curves down from near the Umbrella Seat, though the wall doesn't match:
1940s Upper Peak Tram Terminus
I guess the photo of the sedan chair is taken by the side of the Upper Peak Tram Station leading down to Old Peak Road. The bend in the road can be seen in the photo below taken from the late 1940s.The lower two floors of the building is also a good match.
same/similar place
Found this one on Flickr. I guess not from the same place, but quite near.
