Walking through Tai Long last week, I was pleased to see a sign introducing the history of one of the buildings along the trail. Hats off to whoever made this, and hopefully there will be more. It reads:
Welcome to Tai Long Village (Tai Wai) No. 39. You might simply overlook this old ordinary house but it had a great contribution to the villagers in 1950’s - 1970’s. Before 1978, there was no electricity supply here so the British army set up a temporary generator inside this house. Power was supplied every day for 2-3 hours only. After 1978, the generator was abandoned due to electricity supply from the China Light and Power company.
