Photo 3. A burnt-out daai fei and vehicle. Daai feis were dangerous for a number of reasons. One was that their fuel supply to their five large outboard engines was from loose fuel cans that were connected to the engines by flimsy plastic pipes. During a high-speed chase, fuel would wash through the main compartment and across the deck. It was surprising that more daai feis didn't end up like this one. This photograph was taken at the Marine Police base inside Tolo Channel - 1991.
