Isn't this the hotel's new wing? If so, I think it was added later that 1964.

Phil, it's always a problem with dates given on Flickr. We have a similar photo showing almost the same part of the hotel:

This one is attributed to 1963 and is part of a gallery. Other photos from the 1963 series fit quite well to this date. So the date (1964) might be correct.

You are right Klaus, actually I think the bit we can see is not the new wing but this sort of skirting structure that appears in this illustration: https://gwulo.com/atom/18702
