Paul Tsui + Jack Cater at Sai Kung 1946.jpg

1946 - Capt. Paul Tsui (ADO / NT) with Capt. Jack Cater (Fishery Officer) and Captain of Commandoes stationed in Sai Kung Town.  Photo taken outside what became the Shung Chun (Tsung Tsin) School of the Swiss Basel Mission. Tsui & Cater were stuck overnight at Sai Kung Town while touring the outlying areas by boat because the sea was too rough...

The building where the three men are sitting will indeed become a seminary of the Hong Kong branch of the Basel Mission in 1955.

Interesting to note is the fact that from 2 October 1946, “Li Shui Sang Houses” were requisitioned for use as Sai Kung Police Station (大届嬎会) to accommodate two Europeans and 30-40 other ranks. For the duration of four years, “Li Shui Sang Houses” were used as a police station.

So they were staying at a governmental property.
