I wonder if anyone else has a cup of this type or similar. I posted a query about it five years ago and tngan kindly answered that it was probably a typical gift in thanks for a service. It's difficult to get a good photo of the inscription because of the curved surface and the reflection, but the bordered shield contains the normal monogram CEW of my grandfather, Charles Edward Warren.  The inscription reads "To C. E. WARREN ESQ./From LI SUI CHI/HONG KONG/1903" I still don't know who Li Sui Chi was, nor what the cup was given for.

1905 Construction of the General Post Office

The GPO on Pedder Street and Connaught Road Central took a long time to erect. I think the photo is from 1905 when the basement level was covered in asphalt and concrete. Ties in with also the completion of the brand new Hotel Mansions on the left and Kruse & Co. moving into the new building.

1900s Wanchai Road, near No. 2 Police Station

Year is a guess. Interesting picture as it 'captures' two criminals in stocks being attended to by an Indian policeman. The structure behind looks like to be a fountaiin which may have replaced the Jubilee Fountain that was erected near No. 2 Police Station. Wanchai Road is on the right.
