Just by chance I found on YouTube a film from 1949 titled  Hong Kong Under The Red Shadow Australia's Northern Frontier (1949)

At the end of this short (2:54) film this boundary stone is shown close to Man Kam To bridge. Update: it's located at Sha Tau Kok,

The administrative offices of Cable and Wireless moved yesterday from the Gloucester Hotel to their new quarters in Electra House, in Connaught Road.

Starting tomorrow, all administrative work will be undertaken at Electra House.

Crashes at Kai Tak were not uncommon in the 1950s. Piston engined planes were generally not as reliable as turbo props and jets and the runways in use before the one extending into the harbour was built were notoriously difficult ones for pilots.  When Andrew Suddaby arrived by B.O.A.C. Argonaut the pilot made the comforting (?) announcement that Kai Tak was the most exciting and trickiest airport he knew.

Jim flew from the UK to Hong Kong by R.A.F. Transport Command in a Hastings aircraft.  This was the military version of the Hermes plane flown by B.O.A.C.. The Hastings seemed to suffer from more than their fair share of mechanical problems.
