Carmen was a Bar Girl that worked at the San Francisco Bar in Wanchai.  Every time I went to the bar I used to play the song called "San Francisco" by Scott McKenzie on the Duke Box.  To this day (2017), that song evokes memories of that period in my life.  Carmen took me to Repulse Bay on her day off. We were both 18 years old.

This is a group of Navy guys off of HMAS Derwent in Hong Kong in 1976.  We had all put in $25 Hong Kong and purchased a "Party Ticket" at the Washington Bar in Wanchai.  Party Tickets allowed you to drink certain drinks for a set period of time.  It was a receipe for getting drunk very quickly. I am in the back left corner with a Bar Girl, a different one from the San Francisco Bar.  If you had multiple girlfriends from different bars, the bar girls called you a Butterfly because you flitted from one girl to another.

My name is Alan (Nickname was Frapper).  I was in the Australian Navy and was in and out of Hong Kong over the 70's and 80's.  So, that means that the photos are of that period.  I hope they bring back some memories for people.
