Thomas Edgar was a baker, and not at that time interned in Stanley. Evelina was Portuguese, but voluntarily entered Stanley when Tom was interned in 1943.
The Japanese man in the photo is almost certainly Lieutenant Tanaka (not the Tanaka who was executed for war crimes), a man whose helpfulness to Allied prisoners was recorded by Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke.
Came across the picture in family archive. Man second from left is identified as J. Olson who was my grandfather. Was this the local defence force as the picture was definitely taken before, during or just after the First World War?
I know that as my grandfather left HK in 1923.
Can anybody identify any of the others who might have living relatives who I might contact for further research? Also where was the picture taken?

This picture is of a class or group at St Joseph's School probably taken around 1915. The pupil on the right of the picture with the green ring around him may be one of my uncles as the snap is in our family collection.
