Philippines to Hong Kong-claimed first flight

Flicking through the book Trails in Philippine Skies I noticed the above claim which I had not heard of previously.

I can find no other references to this historic flight.

Have any Hong Kong newsprint search Sleuths seen anything that can substantiate this claim?

 It should have made a very big news story at the time. The book is somewhat vague when mentioning the actual year dates of events

Holland China Trading Company (HCHC) in Hong Kong, 1926

Charles Gesner van der Voort worked at Holland-China Trading Company in 1939. Twenty years earlier, Bob de Vries' father worked for HCHC in Hong Kong. This photo shows the Hong Kong office staff in 1926.

Original caption reads: "Hong Kong 1926 - - Staff of the newly formed Holland China Trading Co. Note the flag of the recently established Nationalist government."

Portrait Willem Kien, ca. 1921, Shanghai

Charles worked at Holland-China Trading Company (HCHC), with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tientsin (Tianjin), Rotterdam and London. At the start of the company, in 1903, Willem Kien started to work for HCHC in Shanghai, later becoming director. In 1921 he left China and became director at the Rotterdam head office.
