It looks as though this collapsed quite recently, as the rubble along the path still looks fresh.

The friend I was hiking with pointed this out, written along the edge of the path:

KAAA & DOTP 1958

It refers to a program to improve life in the New Territories villages, which included laying these concrete paths. So this path was laid in 1958, and funded by the Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association and the District Office, Tai Po.

I was surprised to see this well-tended rice paddy at Lai Chi Wo last weekend.

One of the local residents thought it was connected with a university. Does anyone know more about it?

Steps up to Hing Hon Road

These are the steps from Pokfulam Road up to Hing Hon Road. Until recently the steps were much narrower, but they were widened during the construction of the new "Summa" residential block on the left.

On the right is a sign marked "IL 757". You can see the same number was painted on the wall.

I guess it's there to make sure this little sliver of land (between the low wall, and the higher wall and fence behind it) stays with the rest of this lot, and doesn't get absorbed to the St Paul's School lot (IL 754) that starts at the higher wall.
