RAF Hangar-Diamond Hill

Old RAF Hangar at Tai Hom / Diamond Hill [????- ]

The ex-RAF hangar next to Diamond Hill MTR station has now been hidden from view  at the Exit 'A' path by contractors as they start clearing the site for the Shatin to Central line project. The ultimate fate of this WW2 relic is not known, although there have been attempts to preserve it in some way.

The buildings haven't changed and the swimming pool still hides behind the low brick wall. Military landing craft used the ramp in the 1980s, presumably to unload stores for the local camps

As 'T' says the site hasn't changed much. I can still recognise the spot where we kept a friend's speedboat on the site in the 1970s.
