Old Hong Kong Buildings

Old Hong Kong Buildings

We hired a photographer to take this picture of our family house (japanese style house with red tile roof) on Island Road, Deep Water Bay in the 1980s. This photo was taken from a helicopter. The groups of low rise apartments named Deepdene still stands today - our house was just across the road to it.

Date picture taken (may be approximate):
Tuesday, June 1, 1982

Thanks for posting the photos.

I'd like to add a place for it. Please could you let me know the name and address, or what stands there today, so I can place it on a map? (Or you're welcome to add a new place yourself, it's not hard).

regards, David

This is Deep Water Bay - the building in the middle with the red roof is approximately where 45 Island Road is today

I think this photo must have been considerably earlier than 1982.  The Seaview Promenade looks to be missing here, but it was shown clearly in 1981

Was the pink-roofed building immediately left of the long red-roofed house (No. 35 Island Rd) a block of lowrise flats?

The current generation of 39A was not yet constructed at the time of this picture.
