Eastern New Territories? but where?-now identified as Sai Wan Beach

The embossed printing date on the edge of this image says August 1967. But where is this idyllic place. Does it still exist? The eastern NT is a guess.

Date picture taken (may be approximate):

Hi there,

That looks like Tai Long Wan to me.  At least it matches the Satalite view in Google Maps/Earth.  The portion of the photo appeared to be of the Tai Long Sai (West) Wan as it is a little bit to the west and with a small village there.

The village is still there and was in the news a few months ago when the proprietors of two tuck shops were in an argument of serving visiting customers.  The argument intensified into a brawl and the Police was called in to take care of the situation.  Don't know how the proprietors fair though.

Best Regards,

T

yes, it's Sai Wan beach

Thank you both for the location ID

judging from the angle this would have to have been taken from a helicopter or plane. Any idea who took it? Is it one of Robin Adshead's?

I've no idea who took it, the print was among a batch of aerial photographs I had access to recently. I'll gradually post them on GWULO as they show how much the landscape has changed over the years. IDJ
