Hi there,
I guess some very old maps are needed as reference on this. I don't know if the perspective was accurate. Anyway, the slopes up there is a bit steep, but it could be somewhere along the same bent along present day Bridges Street/Staunton Street or Wing Lee Street.
No idea about the houses though.
