Think this is Wong Tai Sin Resettlement Estate with Lion Rock in the back.

Probably taken from a car on Clearwater Road (see 1956 Kowloon Map)..

Yes, photo was taken on Clearwater Bay Road (today's Choi Hung Road) and looking at Wong Tai Sin. The Kai Tak Nullah can be seen in the foreground.
