This was a familiar place to me in the mid 60s.  We lived a few miles away on Castle Peak Road and at times would go to the Castle Peak Hotel for lunch or just a cup of coffee.  I would think it is near 17 Mile marker if not right on it.  How I miss Hong Kong still after our two years there in the mid 60s.

An Advert in the China Mail dated 16 July 1949 gives the hotel as being 'now opened' and located at the 17 mile marker.
